There is something quietly powerful about EMZz. She does not shout for attention. She does not chase headlines. Instead, the 25 year old Liverpool born artist is building her career with intention, honesty and a sound that feels both nostalgic and necessary.

Rooted in raw contemporary RnB, EMZz draws inspiration from artists such as Fantasia, Ashanti and Alicia Keys. There is a clear thread of noughties soul running through her music, but her storytelling is distinctly her own. Emotional, reflective and unfiltered, it feels less like performance and more like lived experience set to melody.
Music has always been part of her life. She performed at Liverpool’s iconic The Cavern Club at just 17 and began gigging for a record label soon after, knowing deep down that being an artist was not a hobby but her calling. Yet it was motherhood that transformed her relationship with music completely.
“After I had my children, I finally understood how healing music had been for me,” she says. “That’s when I started writing with intention.”
That intention now shapes every lyric. EMZz’s upcoming debut EP, Finally Free, due for release on May 14th 2026, is her most personal work to date. The five track project charts a journey through abuse, generational trauma, self hatred and burnout, before arriving at acceptance and liberation.
From the questioning vulnerability of When Does It End to the emotional depth of Firstborn Tears and the highly anticipated single THIN, each track forms part of a bigger narrative. The closing title track, Finally Free, captures the release that comes from breaking toxic cycles and choosing a different future.
For EMZz, this project is not about chart positions. It is about connection.
“I have a story to tell,” she explains. “Let’s heal together. For ourselves. For the generations after us.”
Her lived experiences have shaped not only her songwriting but her resilience. In the middle of building her career, EMZz received a late autism diagnosis. Rather than viewing it as a setback, she describes it as clarity. Understanding how her mind works strengthened her creative process and gave context to past struggles.
“It actually helped my workflow,” she says. “I finally understood myself.”
There was a period, she admits, when her nervous system felt overwhelmed and her sense of direction disappeared. Music became the anchor that steadied her. That honesty is now at the heart of her brand, even if it sometimes challenges the fast paced nature of social media culture.
Professionally, she calls this stage her growth era. She has surpassed 104 monthly listeners on Spotify, with her two released singles reaching more than 50 cities across 27 countries.

She performs one to two gigs each month and recently celebrated 93 pre saves for THIN ahead of its March release. She has also performed as part of Independent Venue Week, marking a key milestone in her journey.
While the numbers are building steadily, EMZz is clear that success, for her, is not instant fame. It is sustainable growth. By the end of 2027, she hopes to have released two EPs and a full album, expanded her catalogue through collaborations and grown into venues with capacities beyond 200.
She is aiming for thousands of streams across her discography and, more importantly, a loyal audience that resonates with her message.
In today’s UK music scene, EMZz believes there is space for vulnerability again. As conversations around mental health and generational trauma become more open, her revival of noughties style RnB feels timely. It is not about recreating the past but reclaiming its emotional depth and bringing it into the present.
At a time when much of the industry rewards perfection and polish, EMZz is choosing authenticity. She is choosing to speak openly about pain, growth and self awareness. And with Finally Free set to introduce a wider audience to her story, this Liverpool artist is proving that sometimes the most powerful voices are the ones brave enough to tell the truth.
