Specialising in Classic Trance, Progressive House, Techno, Deep House, Tech House, Mainstage, Drum & Bass, and Afro House, Micky refuses to be boxed into a single sound. His versatility, authenticity, and emotional approach to production have made him one of the most exciting rising names in dance music today.

Early Beginnings: From Irish Roots to Rave Culture

Music has always been in Micky’s DNA. Growing up in a home filled with Irish melodies, soul, and Motown, rhythm and emotion became second nature. The turning point came when his father brought home a bag of old rave tapes — legendary sets from Shelley’s, Entropy, and the early days of UK rave culture.

“I was only about ten, but from that moment, I knew I wanted to be a DJ,” Micky recalls. “When I turned twelve, my parents bought me my first set of decks — honestly, it felt like the best day of my life.”

Those early experiences, combined with influences from Daz Willot, Carl Cox, Brisk, Altern 8, and The Prodigy, set Micky on a lifelong path of sonic exploration.

Creative Process: Emotion, Hyperfocus, and Flow

Micky’s creative process is fluid, intuitive, and rooted in feeling. “It usually starts with me jamming on the keyboard,” he explains. “If it’s tech house, I’ll begin with a bassline; if it’s trance, I’ll start with chords or a pluck to build the atmosphere.”

Living with ADHD adds an extra layer of intensity to his workflow:

“When inspiration hits, I need to get ideas down fast. Sometimes it takes twenty drafts before something sticks — but when it does, I feel it. That’s when hyperfocus kicks in, and I can lose hours bringing a track to life.”

That instinct-driven energy fuels his ability to produce multiple finished tracks each week — each one built from a genuine emotional core.

Milestones and Momentum

A 4x Remix Contest Winner with over 34 remixes shortlisted on LabelRadar, Micky’s consistency and craftsmanship have earned recognition across the scene. His releases span labels including Trance FC, Purple Fly Records, and Jandex Records, with more upcoming drops on DNAR Records and Day Dose Of House.

One of his proudest moments came with his emotional track “You Were the Love of My Life” — a heartfelt production that connected deeply with listeners:

“It still gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. It was my first track to gain traction online and even earned me my first £260. It wasn’t about the money — it was about knowing that something I’d made resonated with people.”

Sound & Style

Ask Micky to describe his sound, and he’ll tell you it’s all about emotion and connection:

“I don’t stick to just one genre. I’ve produced everything from drum & bass to afro house, but trance will always be at the core of what I do. I’m drawn to that classic energy — the ’90s and early 2000s vibe that made people feel something real on the dance floor.”

His music channels the golden age of trance through a modern lens — melodic, powerful, and timeless.

Career Highlights

Among his standout moments are multiple features on BBC Introducing and signing with AudioWave Records, a label that recognised his originality and drive.

“Signing with AudioWave was a milestone — it felt like validation after years of work. But the journey’s still just beginning. Those 34 remixes sitting on hold at LabelRadar keep me motivated. It feels like something big is around the corner.”

Influences & Inspirations

From the underground heroes of the old school to today’s festival titans, Micky’s influences are both deep and diverse.

“Carl Cox, Daz Willot, Brisk, DJ Billy Bunter, The Prodigy, and Altern 8 — they’re the foundation. Then you’ve got modern icons like Armin van Buuren, Oliver Heldens, David Guetta, and Calvin Harris, who’ve shown how far dance music can go while staying true to its roots.”

His sound carries that same DNA — high-energy, heartfelt, and made to move people.

What’s Next

Micky’s focus for the coming year includes new music, collaborations, and live sets that showcase his evolving sound.

“I’ve got another signing in progress with AudioWave and a few collaborations in the works. I’m all about keeping momentum going and reaching more listeners while staying true to that classic trance feel.”

Dream Collaborations

When asked who he’d most love to work with, his answer is instant:

“Armin van Buuren and Oliver Heldens — their production, energy, and connection with the crowd are next level. And performing with The Prodigy would be the ultimate dream. Their energy shaped who I am as an artist.”

Words of Wisdom

For upcoming producers and DJs, Micky’s advice is grounded and real:

“Stay patient, stay curious, and stay true to your sound. Don’t chase every trend — build something that’s you. Focus on quality and consistency. Network genuinely. When the right opportunity comes along, you’ll be ready.”

What Real Music Means

For Micky, “real music” isn’t a genre — it’s a feeling.

“Real music is honest, powerful, and connects. It’s not just sound — it’s emotion. It makes you stop, listen, and feel something real. That’s what I aim for every time I sit down to make music.”
