In the ever-evolving landscape of Afro-Gospel and contemporary music, the De Stanley Brothers are emerging as a force defined by faith, depth, and boundless versatility. Their journey began with a viral moment, but their staying power has come from something far greater — an unshakable belief in their purpose and a sound that bridges heaven and humanity.

“Music has always been an inborn gift,” they reflect. “We had a passion for singing that led us to join the church choir simply because we loved music. Our journey as artistes really began when a video of us singing went viral four years ago. The moment caught us unprepared, but it became the foundation we built everything on.”

From that unexpected spark, the brothers have evolved into a refined, spiritually rooted act with a growing audience and a message that continues to inspire.

The Creative Process: Faith First, Always

For De Stanley Brothers, creativity is a sacred act — one that begins with introspection and divine inspiration.“It always starts with a melody and our state of mind,” they explain. “Our vision is faith-based, so we believe those melodies are inspired by the Holy Spirit and the world around us.”

Once an idea takes shape, the process becomes collaborative. Their creative circle includes manager Richard Tamuno, producer Isaac Okonte Jonah (Zii), and songwriter/rapper Moses Ase (Sleekmusic). Together, they develop the concept, refine the story, and build the sound layer by layer before sending it for external mixing and mastering.“Our manager handles everything from A&R and promotion to distribution and publishing,” they add. “It’s a team effort — everyone plays a vital role.”

The Sound of Versatility

Ask them to describe their sound, and one word comes instantly: versatility. Their catalogue blends elements of Afrobeats, Pop, Contemporary Gospel, Afro-Fusion, and Highlife, creating a sound that’s both joyful and deeply human. “We want our music to be easy to understand, uplifting, and filled with hope,” they say.

This approach has led to one of their proudest achievements yet — the breakout single On My Side. “We’ve had the most feedback from that song,” they recall. “What’s amazing is that it took nearly a year before people really discovered it, despite all our marketing efforts. Watching it finally connect with listeners made every moment worth it.”

Moments of Growth

Their journey hasn’t been without challenges, but each stage has strengthened their artistry and resolve. “One of our standout moments happened recently,” they share. “After years of lessons and growth, we had the chance to apply everything we’d learned at a live event. It reminded us how far we’ve come, and it was a proud moment that showed us we’re on the right path.”

Influences and Inspirations

Like many great artists, their influences span continents and genres. “Judikay was one of our biggest influences when we began,” they explain. “Over time, we’ve also been inspired by Mr. Passport, our producer Zii, our manager Richard Tamuno, Sleek Music, Sonume George, Tye Tribbett, Kirk Franklin, Noble G, Nathaniel Bassey, Michael Jackson, and so many others we can’t even name them all.”

It’s a list that reveals both reverence and curiosity — a willingness to learn from every sound, every soul, and every story.

What’s Next: Gratitude and Global Vision

Next on their horizon is a new release titled “Grateful.” The track, they explain, is “an Afro-Gospel and soul-infused celebration of the unshakable joy that comes from knowing God lives within us.”

“It’s a heartfelt expression of thanksgiving,” they add. “The song reminds listeners that we stand strong because His hands hold us firm. With warm rhythms, soulful vocals, and uplifting African percussion, it carries both intimacy and energy — connecting deeply with anyone thankful for life and grace.”

Beyond that, the brothers are embarking on an ambitious project titled “Multiple Features,” which will see them collaborate with artists from different nations to reimagine On My Side in multiple languages. “It’s an exciting way to share our message with a global audience,” they say.

Dream Collaborations

When asked who they’d love to work with, their enthusiasm is infectious. “We’d love to collaborate with James Fortune, Neon Adejo, Victor Thompson, Judikay, Pastor Tye Tribbett, Brandon Lake, Forest Frank, Phil Wickham, and Pastor Donnie,” they reveal. “These are artists whose energy, conviction, and creativity align perfectly with our vision.”

Words of Wisdom

For De Stanley Brothers, their journey has taught them more than just the mechanics of music — it’s taught them perseverance. “Our advice to others, especially young people, is to never give up,” they emphasise. “Even in the seasons that feel unsatisfying or uncertain, keep pushing. The process may be hard, but the result is always beautiful. As the world keeps evolving, stay true to your purpose and never stop creating.”

Defining Real Music

Ask them what “real music” means, and their answer comes with quiet conviction:“Real music is when all the elements — rhythm, melody, harmony, and emotion — come together perfectly to deliver a message. It’s not about being stuck in one pattern, but about flowing with truth and principle. Music is everything.”

The story of the De Stanley Brothers is one of faith meeting artistry — of divine timing, dedication, and the pursuit of purpose through sound. From their humble beginnings in a church choir to the global stage they’re now stepping onto, their music continues to carry the same heartbeat: hope, gratitude, and grace.

As Grateful prepares to be released and their message spreads across borders, one thing is certain — this is just the beginning of something extraordinary.
